Since for the future increasing cooperation within Europe will require improved communication between European research establishments and aerodynamics industries, the Group for Software Technology in the Institute of Fluid Mechanics joined a RACE project called PAGEIN which intends to demonstrate improved communication on computer networks. Initiated during the early stages of the PAGEIN project, a prototype for a cooperative visualization system was designed and tested.
This work was partly funded by the CEC within the RACE 2031 project PAGEIN. PAGEIN is an acronym for "Pilot Application on a Gigabit European Integrated Network". Within the project there will be various network related applications tested on international links.
A first succesfull demonstration of the PAGEIN project was given on CeBIT 93 using a wide area high speed ATM technology.
